Stick with the standard button controls and use the touch screen for the supplemental options like changing up the on-field strategy. The game features a touch screen gesture system for stylus control, but it's more gimmicky than the camera functions and really doesn't do anything to make the soccer gameplay fun. You can also snap a photo for the face of a specific player, but this looks terrible because all the developer's doing is plopping a flat photo over the 3D head – it doesn't move in perpective with the character model, so it looks like that same cheesy effect you see in those personalized cartoons they make at shopping mall kiosks. A true-to-life soccer experience thanks to detailed animations and realistic teammate and opponent behaviors. Real Soccer 2009 is the true benchmark that this platform deserves for soccer games. It was billed as a good alternative to the giants, FIFA and PES. It will offer you a never before-seen soccer experience with revolutionary yet accessible Touch Screen. It includes 198 teams using real players' names, dynamic AI opponents and 3D graphics that push the DS to the max. 3 LEGENDMARIOID Tue 7th Apr 2009 This was an actual DS game that got decent-ish reviews. It's fun tinker around with these options, but the things you do with the camera aren't anything special: you can create unique textures for the ball, the waving stadium flag, and an image for the big-screen. Live the soccer season to the max with Real Soccer 2009 on Nintendo DSiWare. With the exception of Wario Ware Snapped and the profile creator in Brain Age Express, It's the first game on the system to explore the DSi's camera functionality as an in-game tool. What's most interesting about Real Soccer 2009 is its camera experimentation. The production values don't quite get Real Soccer 2009 up to the standards of EA Sports' FIFA series on the handheld, so it lacks a bit of polish in the presentation – you can play multiplayer but only locally and you'll all need a downloaded copy of the game to partake in the human vs. The soccer gameplay is a good looking football title that's both solid and deep, with a decent balance of pick-up-and-play action for the casual gamer and some solid strategic design for those that like to get a little more simulation in their footy.
